Saw that yesterday. Funny stuff.

It's worth repeating that the hardest hitting news show who asks the toughest questions is Jon Stewart

On a comedy network. Who proceeds a guy who acts like he's conservative.

Well, here's hoping that Generation X through whatever generation we are now at will only get their news from Jon Stewart.

With all due respect to Jon Stewart, no one should only get their news from one source. I suppose if one were lazy and didn't want to have to think for yourself, then it would be fine.

If I had to pick a single source, it would probably be NewsHour, though not nearly as entertaining as Stewart, it is much more thorough.

Well, The Daily Show isn't really a news show, although you do get some news from them, they're media critics. Unfortunately, as well-known and spot-on as The Daily Show usually is, the cable news networks seem to roll on unaffected.

For the sake of clarification, I am not advocating for a single news source nor do I believe TDS is actually news. My point is that he is the only guy asking tough questions, instead of who I'd like to go to for that information; namely, real news organizations.

Fuck it. In my mind, The Daily Show should be winning Peabody Awards for the journalism they're doing in the writer's room.

There's more insight and probing analysis in a six-minute TDS segment than in 24 hours of fucking CNN.

I'm with you, Furious. TDS has more news than any other vacuous news outlet on television.

That said, I don't what TDS or Colbert report very much. I'll watch the streaming versions online about twice a year (one such episode with this post, thank you Mr F.) I prefer the written form of news (online.)

that should be "don't watch"

That isn't saying much. My six year old puts out more insight that CNN. The 24 hour news networks are just fluff and filler.

I saw it too. Have to agree with Furious.

60 Minutes still does some good work, though I don't watch it as much as I used to.

If the 24/7 news channels can't give us more than fluff and filler then they shouldn't exist at all. They're doing more harm than good.
