Hell, If NPR Can Bore Me With Pledge Week...

...i can try out a little banner ad. If this is annoying in any way to me (or you guys) I'll shitcan it, but I figure it's worth a shot.

God, I really hate Pledge Week. I can make my entire commute without hearing anything but NPR asking for money...

I am with you. Pledge week sucks. My car ride is juuuuust long enough that all I hear is how great their programming is without actually hearing any of that great programming.

Problem is, the mind-numbing Bob and Tom Show is only berely more tolerable.

I'd be fine with Pledge Week if, after you donated, they gave you a special unlock code so you could hear a begging-free version of the broadcast. Have to work out the technical implementation details, but I think it's a sound idea.

Toast is on to something there.

Toast sure is, as this is an idea being floated at NPR once HD radio comes into greater use. There is the potential for seperate channels to be broadcast over one frequency, one of which might be "pledge free" for those who have already paid their dues
