It's also now been revealed that the Secret Service saw a marked jump in threats to Obama once McCain and (mostly) Palin started stoking the base.
They really were willingly playing with fire, and that should not be forgotten or forgiven easily.
He may have been an honorable guy once (which personally I doubt) but he sure as hell isn't one now, no matter what regrets and remorse he spouts to restore his reputation.

I actually worry about Obama lasting 4 years because of all that. There would always have been an undercurrent of people wanting to hurt or kill him. But McCain/Palin made it acceptable to think that way. And he has the gall to act all magnanimous.
