Take Care of Business

I've been meaning to post that pic for a while, and today's the day. The man has run the most disciplined, organized and successful campaign in history. He did his part. So well in fact, that my biggest worry now is complacency... Now it's on us.

Vote. And make sure everyone you know votes. You have a sister in San Diego? Even better—Vegas? Phoenix? Make sure they vote no matter what the hell the morons on tv are saying about the race—every vote counts—if not towards actual victory, than towards an ass-whipping mandate.

I'll be trying to get out of work early today to go down to the Obama office to do whatever the hell they need me to.

You need some more motivation? Fine.

No fucking steak knives today:

Go and do likewise, gents.

Good luck down at Obama HQ. Hopefully all that will be required of you is to raise your glass and cheer loudly.

We did our part today to make Florida a little more Obama friendly. Chris and I both volunteered all day after dropping the girls off at school. We knocked on about 250 doors to get out the vote. Some of the scariest neighborhoods I've ever seen.

PS - my word is amberacs. What a cool word.

Holy Crap.

Conceded by 11:30

338 to 156
56 in the house
235 in the senate

i am blown away,
the only disappointment for me is Florida passed a gay marriage ban 68% to 32%. wtf is wrong with people, but i can't really be too pissed with the other results tonight.

Good job America, I am proud of you today.

Did you get a chance to go to Obama HQ? If so, just curious how it went.

Chris,

No. I got swamped at work. At the time I was comforting myself knowing that Asheville and the offices here were kicking McCain ass. But with the final count down to the wire, I have regrets about it. Luckily it's all academic.

Oh, and the "swamped at work?" A meeting to decide who I lay off today.

Fucking sucks, and really is taking the wind out of my sails. Only an intern, but I feel bad.
