Glenn Beck: I also believe this is dividing the nation…to where the nation sees him react so rapidly on Haiti and yet he couldn’t react rapidly on Afghanistan. He couldn’t react rapidly on Ft. Hood. He couldn’t react rapidly on our own airplanes with an underwear bomber…it doesn’t make sense. [...] Three different events and Haiti is the only one. I think personally that it deepens the divide to see him react this rapidly to Haiti.
Limbaugh: "[the Obama Administration] will use this to burnish its credibility with the black community—both the light-skinned and dark-skinned black community in this country.
It's made to order for him. Made to order. That's why he couldn't WAIT to get out there."
Any GOP pols with the sack to call these soulless assholes out? [/crickets]
I don't enjoy the fact that the first post I write about this tragedy ends up being partisan raging, but what was I going to say that wasn't already apparent to any normal human being? How anyone can react to what is unfolding in a country in our frontyard without their heart wrenching for the current situation, and outrage and/or disgust at the situation in Haiti that preceded the earthquake and only compounds the tragedy is beyond me.

Glenn Beck is a skidmark on the Underwear of Life.
They're both disgusting, and the race baiting is blatant and unashamed, but Beck's context is particularly ridiculous.
All he sees is the black faces. Does he not realize that disaster relief is the only one of his "events" that action after the fact would have any impact? The people in Haiti actually are still dying and can be helped as opposed to a comparative handful of already dead victims?
No one will call out Limbaugh because he will hurt them in the long run. In some ways, though, it seems better to just ignore both of these clowns and not give them any credibility, much like you would ignore a whining child as it just encourages them to keep it up.
Beck's comments are just plain stupid. I don't know how anyone with a fraction of a brain can even say the underwear bomber and Haiti are even close. One incident resulted in no deaths or injuries (except for the guilty party) and called for a reasoned, patient, calculated response. The other resulted in the deaths and injuries of thousands and called for an immediate response if more death and injury was to be avoided. I think Obama has failed in areas, but this is one where he has done a good job.
As for Ft. Hood, what the hell was Obama supposed to do? It was already over and being handled.
The people who don't understand foreign policy are Beck and Limbaugh. Afghanistan is complicated and took a tremendous amount of thought and input. The Underwear bomber was being handled quickly enough...what else was there to do? Lock him up, and then take him to court. Haiti is easy. Send troops and supplies.
Those two are sick.
Thankks for writing
