Resting On My Laurels

So, here I am feeling all good about myself for riding my bicycle to work, and losing ten pounds, but the truth is, I'm really have another ten to lose, and I've been stuck in the mid-170s for probably a month or more. And now we head straight into the toughest stretch of the year: cold weather (less biking) plus Halloween, birthdays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas (more chowing) equals return to Huskyville...

The state of my complacency was brought to vivid light with this morning's bit of trivia from Mrs. Furious: with her steady erosion down to a fantastic 113 pounds, I now weigh more than the rest of my family combined.

By one pound.

Did I mention I have two kids? At least it doesn't include the dog.

Future weigh-ins will take place at the playground. On the see-saw. Mrs, Kid and Baby F on the other end...which way does it go?

BONUS: Searching for the photo yielded this funny post.

Don't feel too bad. With all of my family combined, I still have them by a good 60 pounds.

Have you considered smoking as a means of shedding those extra pounds?

Rickey has gained a few hefty pounds since he quit smoking. There's got to be a corrolary in there somwhere....

According to Mrs. Furious, I am "smoking."

(NOTE: Completely false.)

Is your entire family (including you) skin and bones? Or are you all just unusually short? Because them's some low weights.

I am short 5'3"... Mr F is 5'10"

LOL. Actually for my body type, I should be around 160 or so, I am shooting for 168 as a realistic, maintainable healthy, fit weight. I have (depending on the day) about 7-10 pounds to get there.

The biking has gotten me in better cardiovascular shape, and helped burn some fat off, but I clearly need to step up the regimen on the treadmill if the biking winds down, and be careful on the snack front...

Love the Guiness Book link. I remembered the McGuire brothers when I saw that picture, but I'd forgotten about the long nails fellow.
